If you haven't tried matcha yet you should get on the green tea train. Starbucks is even serving these lovely drinks now (with about 35 grams of added sugar). I decided to make my own. Its my go to snack in the afternoon when I need a pick me up, especially when the weather is as warm as it has been lately. The benefits of matcha are numerous including energy + calm due to its mix of l-theanine + caffeine, high level of antioxidants to help your heart and brain, and its an excellent source of chlorophyll which may help eliminate heavy metals from the body. This power drink is worth a try.
- 1 cup ice
- 1/2 can light Coconut Milk
- 1 - 2 tsp honey (to taste)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp of Match Green Tea Powder
Place the ingredients into a blender in the order listed. Blend until smooth. Add more ice to reach desired consistency. Enjoy!
Invest in a good quality high potency Match Green Tea powder. I like this one from Amazon. Follow the directions on the box for how much to use. More potent = use less. You could also try amping up the nutrient by adding MCT Oil for good fat, turmeric for anti-inflammatory or a dash of cinnamon for added flavor and metabolism boosting effect.
