The Perfect Spring Smoothie Recipe

We are transitioning from winter, the most yin season of the year to spring, the most yang season of the year. Nature is bursting with the beauty of spring. We too may be catching "Spring Fever".  Moving from a time of stagnation and hibernation to a time of increased activity and emotion.  Springtime is also the right time for the liver to get out of balance.  Its important that we incorporate chlorophyll rich and bitter foods into our diets to help support the liver during this transition period into spring.  I've been testing out smoothie recipes and found one that is as good as a cup of lime sherbet.  Its filled with liver supporting foods such as spinach, lime and honey as well as healthy fat from avocado.  This is sure to be a crowd favorite, even if you have little ones in the house.  

I Love My Liver Smoothie


  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 cup frozen mango
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 - 2 tsp honey (to taste)
  • 1/4 cup fresh spinach
  • 2-3 tbs of milk (any milk will do)


Place the ingredients into a blender in the order listed.  Blend until smooth.  Start with less milk and add more to reach desired consistency. Enjoy!


Try adding some MCT Oil or some Blue Majik for a nutrient boost.
